Together, We Transform Lives Through the Joy of Sport

Everyone deserves a chance at a happy and purposeful life. Yet people with intellectual disabilities face doubt, barriers, and low expectations. For many, Special Olympics is the only place where they feel like champions - your generous support makes that possible. Please renew your support of Special Olympics again in 2014 and help us reach out to one more person.

Impact Around the World

Special Olympics Mission

The Special Olympics mission remains as vital today as it did when the movement was founded in 1968: Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
