Together, We Transform Lives Through the Joy of Sport

Every day we empower athletes to shatter stereotypes and exceed their personal bests on the playing field and in life. Your generosity makes that possible. But for every Special Olympics champion, there is another person who is still waiting for the chance to participate. Please renew your support of Special Olympics again in 2015 and help us reach out to one more person.

Impact Around the World

Special Olympics Mission

The Special Olympics mission remains as vital today as it did when the movement was founded in 1968: Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
